One of the many things we do as reference librarians in a law firm is pull Judicial profiles. A lawyer pending a trial will ask us to get information on the Judge to see which way he/she has decided in cases, went to school, lived, practiced, etc. So I’m looking up this Judge who is supposedly going to hear a case in The California Superior Court, Placer County. After some detective work – snap! Turns out, she is the Judge for The California Superior Court, County of Los Angeles! She has nothing to do with Placer. My boss and I bring this info. to the lawyer and we determine that it is probably an error on the courts end, putting some L.A. Judge in a hood in-which she does not belong. That’s like an original Babe Ruth baseball card that spelled his name as Ruthe; except my case isn’t worth any money and can be fixed.
Anyhow, those fools got egg on their respective faces.
